Play True Day
Since 2014, in April of every year, the anti-doping community worldwide comes together to celebrate Play True Day – a day that is dedicated to Clean Sport and raising awareness among athletes, the sporting public and others of the importance of preventing doping.
The inspiration for Play True Day stems from an Education Conference hosted by WADA in 2013, which was attended by 17 Latin American countries.

While Play True Day started as a small Latin American initiative, WADA’s digital campaign now reaches millions of people each year, with numerous individuals and organizations taking part from around the globe. The next Play True Day will take place on 11 April 2025.
As in previous years, we will invite athletes, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, Sports Federations, Governments, Major Event Organizers and other anti-doping stakeholders from around the world to join the campaign.

In 2022, in light of the war in Ukraine, WADA considered postponing Play True Day. However, after consulting with a number of stakeholders worldwide, we decided to go ahead with Play True Day for Peace. The feeling is that values such as fairness, integrity and respect for rules -- which are embodied within the Play True message -- contribute to harmony in sport and society.
