WADA withdraws notice of non-compliance sent to Pan American Sports Organization
As part of a circulatory vote, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA’s) Executive Committee (ExCo) approved a revised recommendation of the Agency’s independent Compliance Review Committee (CRC) to withdraw the notice of non-compliance sent to the Pan American Sports Organization (Panam Sports).
On 22 September 2023, WADA’s ExCo alleged that Panam Sports was non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code (Code) due to a failure to make critical corrective actions to its anti-doping program by an agreed deadline as part of WADA’s Code Compliance Questionnaire (CCQ) exercise.
In the days following the ExCo, Panam Sports provided relevant information and documentation to WADA that the critical corrective actions had now been addressed. Therefore, in light of Article 9.3.1.1 of the International Standard for Code Compliance by Signatories (ISCCS), the CRC revised its recommendation to the ExCo.
There are currently four remaining non-compliant Code Signatories. They are the NADOs from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Russia and Gabon, as well as the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation.
