WADA update regarding compliance status of National Anti-Doping Organization of the Philippines

Today, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) shared an update regarding the compliance status of the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) of the Philippines.

On 22 September 2023, WADA issued an all-stakeholder communication confirming that the Philippines NADO was added to WADA’s compliance ‘watchlist’. The NADO had not corrected a number of critical non-conformities, as identified by WADA’s Code Compliance Questionnaire (CCQ) exercise.

At the expiration of the ‘watchlist’ period, the non-conformities had still not been corrected. Therefore, WADA issued a formal notice on 23 January 2024. On 13 February 2024, the Philippines NADO formally disputed the non-compliance.

Since then, the Philippines NADO has continued to address its corrective actions. As a result, the relevant WADA departments have concluded that the corrective actions have now been corrected and the pending compliance procedure has been closed.
