WADA Talks with Kirsty Coventry
In this second WADA Talks, the two-time Olympic champion discusses sporting values
Following the launch of the very first WADA Talks with Sir Craig Reedie last month, and ahead of the 2015 FINA World Championships in Russia (July 24 - August 9), we caught up with Zimbabwean swimmer and WADA Athlete Committee member Kirsty Coventry to discover her views on clean sport.
WADA Talks with Kirsty Coventry sees the two-time Olympic champion discussing sporting values, the importance of athletes speaking up and the move towards quality-driven, intelligent testing.
“I was brought up to know what was right and what was wrong,” said Coventry in the interview. “Sport is about levelling all playing fields, and doing what you do on a daily basis – be it eating, sleeping or training – is enough to make you a great athlete.”
WADA Talks sees the agency’s Senior Manager, Media Relations and Communications, Ben Nichols interviewing leading figures from the athlete community, sport, government and anti-doping community, as well as other partners involved in the clean sport movement.
