WADA seeks host for its 2022 Athlete Biological Passport Symposium

ABP Symposium

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is calling upon interested organizations and cities/countries to host WADA’s 2022 Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) Symposium in late 2022 in order to promote a sharing of knowledge and best practices between stakeholders involved with the ABP.

Previous WADA ABP Symposia were hosted in Qatar and Italy and, together, assembled over 300 experienced ABP users from 70+ countries including: Athlete Passport Management Units, International Federations, National and Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, WADA-accredited laboratories, as well as ABP experts who review passports.

In the past, WADA informally sought interest from its stakeholders to host its ABP Symposiums. However, given the Symposium’s growth; the fact that hosting such events can increase organizational and city profile; as well as, have short-term economic benefits, WADA is now conducting more formal EOI processes for such events. This way, all potential hosts have the opportunity to bid based on clearly established criteria from the outset.

WADA therefore kindly asks organizations and cities/countries that are interested in submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) to host the Conference to:

  • Consult the linked document, which outlines the hosting criteria, decision-making process and timelines; and;
  • Submit an EOI, in English and/or French, by the deadline of 28 January 2022 at 17:00 Montreal time.

For any questions or comments, please contact WADA’s Manager, Projects & Events, Anaïs Lefevre, at anais.lefevre@wada-ama.org.
