Step 1: Acceptance - Agree to the principles of the Code and agree to implement and comply with the Code.
Step 2: Implementation - Amend organization rules and policies to include the mandatory articles and principles of the Code.
Step 3: Enforcement - Enforce amended organization rules and policies in accordance with the Code.
How does my organization achieve Code Implementation (Step 2)?
After the initial step of accepting the Code, the Code signatory then determines how the Code is to be best implemented into its rules, regulations and/or policies in order to ensure compliance. These anti-doping rules must be submitted to WADA for review, in either English or French, in order for them to be pronounced in line with the Code.
How does my organization report its status vis-à-vis compliance with the Code?
WADA has developed an online anti-doping survey (Code Compliance Assessment Survey) for Code Signatories to use in order to facilitate the fulfillment of their reporting obligations. The questionnaire consists of multiple choice questions which refer to requirements and stipulations within the rules adopted by the Anti-Doping Organization or to the actions taken or not taken by the same organization.
This online tool assists WADA in evaluating the status of each signatory with regards to Code compliance and enables WADA to provide guidance, if needed, to achieve complete compliance.
WADA has a number of other compliance resources in the form of Model Rules.
